Spotify has added a new feature that lets Android users share music, podcasts, and audiobooks directly to their WhatsApp status.

This update allows users to submit music, playlists, or podcasts as graphic cards that include a title, cover art, and an "Open on Spotify" button. Viewers can listen to a short preview without leaving WhatsApp.

This function is part of Spotify's attempt to make music sharing a normal component of daily social interactions.

The platform already allows for sharing to Instagram Stories and Notes, with ambitions to interface with TikTok and Snapchat.

WhatsApp's status sharing feature is available to both free and premium users, and it is being rolled out globally in phases. Users can access the functionality through the Spotify app's Share menu.

Spotify has also introduced weekly listening statistics, which show users how much time they spend listening during the week and which artists or genres they discovered.

These stats can be shared on social media platforms such as Instagram and WhatsApp.

This upgrade reflects the widespread use of WhatsApp statuses to indicate mood, interests, and daily life events.

Music, podcasts, and audiobooks are now included in these improvements, giving users more creative ways to communicate with friends.

The functionality is designed to increase user involvement and make music sharing more enjoyable.
