The sale is currently available in Europe and the United Kingdom (UK) is a new Long-Range Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD) version of the Tesla Model 3, which is based on the Long-Range All-Wheel Drive while with the front electric motor deleted.

Meanwhile, the fine print displays the Long Range RWD's 702km claim was attained on 18-inch wheels, while the Long Range AWD was tested on less aerodynamically efficient 19-inch alloys.

With 19-inch wheels optioned, the Long Range RWD is rated at 640km WLTP, 11km more than the AWD.

Tesla Model 3 RWD price

The prices Tesla Model 3 RWD in Germany begin from €44,990 ($AU73,300). However, the standard version of the Tesla Model 3 RWD costs €39,990 ($AU65,100) and €49,990 ($AU81,400) Long Range AWD.

Tesla indicated that if Long Range AWD is introduced in Australia, would start from $59,900 plus on-road costs, between the $54,900 base RWD and $64,900 Long Range AWD.

The Long Range AWD is said to be the most energy-efficient car Tesla sells, with believed consumption as low as 12.5kWh/100km from its LG-made 79kWh nickel-manganese-cobalt battery.
