TikTok introduced a new feature known as "Bulletin Board" that will give creators and brands an easy way to share quick updates with their followers.
The feature works like Instagram's broadcast channels that the Meta-owned platform introduced in 2023. It allows creators to send one-way public messages, whereas followers can only react with emojis.
According to TikTok, the bulletin board was designed to enable creators to post announcements, news, and exclusive content without necessarily having to make a full video. Creators can upload text, photos, and videos, making it flexible for quick communication.
The feature will first be available to creators who are 18 or older and have at least 50,000 followers. In a blog post, TikTok described it as a “one-to-many broadcast channel” meant to keep content sharing fast and simple.
The platform said the tool gives creators a new way to reach audiences and maintain stronger community engagement.
Moreover, all bulletin board content must adhere to its community guidelines. Safety features like muting, blocking, and reporting will work inside the bulletin board to help keep interactions positive and safe.
How to use TikTok’s ‘Bulletin board’
- Creators can open their Inbox and select the option to create a new Bulletin board.
- Creators can turn the “Show on profile” setting on or off depending on whether they want the board to appear on their TikTok profile.
- Creators can choose a name for their Bulletin board to help followers identify it easily.
- Followers can tap the Bulletin board’s name under the creator’s bio.
