TikTok, the globally famed platform for creating and sharing short videos, has announced to team up with the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) to launch the #DigitalHifazat Contest.
The contest is a countrywide campaign aimed at raising awareness about online safety among the young segment of Pakistan's population.
Renowned TikTok creators have been invited to make videos emphasising the following: responsible social media usage, combating online harassment, preventing online fraud, ensuring youth safety and well-being, understanding TikTok’s safety tools, and addressing misinformation on social platforms.
The primary objective of the collaboration between TikTok and PTA is to encourage the platform's users to spread the fundamental ethics of online behaviour and verification of information before sharing it with others.
Participating creators will be playing as TikTok's ambassadors educating the masses about the moral and ethical use of the internet, a step crucial to fostering a safer digital fabric in the country.
The campaign is a testament to TikTok's strides in becoming a platform where filial conduct and user safety remain the top priority.
The #DigitalHifazat Contest will also make sure that content available and posted on the platform is in line with its Community Guidelines to bring an end to prevailing issues such as online harassment, fraud, threats to youth safety, and misinformation.
