To provide users with additional control over their For You Feed (FYF), TikTok is rolling out new personalisation features, reflecting its commitment to enhancing the user experience.
The new FYF features will enable individuals to explore their interests, restrict unwanted content, and better understand how content recommendations work on the renowned short-video platform.
In Pakistan, the FYF tab has propelled a new wave of creators and entrepreneurs, such as Adeel Chaudhary, Humna Zahid (Samosiiii), Zakia Noor (Doctor Zakk), Momin Saqib, and many more creators who have vastly expanded their audiences and careers.
The FYF is said to be the core of TikTok, as it connects users with content, communities, and creators they love the most.
TikTok's new FYF features
Manage Topics
This new feature allows TikTok users to adjust the frequency of videos from over ten popular categories, including Creative Arts, Travel, Nature, and Sports. Although this will not entirely remove content, users can fine-tune their feeds as per their interests.
Smart Keyword Filters
An AI-powered tool, Smart Keyword Filters, enhances existing filters by automatically including synonyms and relevant terms. The social media app is also planning to expand the filter limit from 100 to 200 keywords and introduce bulk editing features.
Guide to FYF
To improve transparency, TikTok will also release a guide to bolster tools and tips to manage the FYF, including features that explain content recommendations.
It's worth mentioning that these updates are rolling out for both teen and adult accounts, aiming to reinforce TikTok’s dedication to providing an engaging experience for users.
