All public and private schools in Lahore have been shut down with immediate effect due to road closures across the city on Friday, according to the Lahore Education CEO (Chief Executive Officer). The schools are informing parents of the unexpected holiday news.

The announcement is in response to ongoing heavy traffic disruptions and internet connectivity issues in several areas of Lahore affecting routine activities.

Residents of Lahore, Islamabad, and Rawalpindi experienced inconvenience when containers were placed on prominent routes and mobile and internet services were suspended as a response to the Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan's (TLP) planned protest in Islamabad.

Additionally, the Punjab government has imposed Section 144 in the provincial capital, which prohibits public gatherings, processions, and the display of weapons and ammunition for a period of 14 days.

Security has been increased in major cities, especially in Lahore.
