While most of the popular online services, including operating systems and software updates, have long adopted Urdu language, native Pakistani iPhong e users lacked this basic necessity until a day before, since the iPhone maker has changed this by launching full Urdu language support with the release of iOS 26.

Pakistani users can now set Urdu language on iPhones

This massive change means iPhone users in Pakistan can set Urdu as their primary system language on iPhones and iPads.

Urdu language support was first introduced in the iOS 18.4 Beta 3 earlier this yebear to let developers and testers access it ahead of the wider rollout.

The Urdu interface with iOS 26 is now accessible to all users on compatible devices, meaning they can navigate the entire iOS experience in Urdu.

How to enable Urdu language on your iPhone?

iPhone users across Pakistan can enable Urdu language from the “iPhone Language” settings menu.

You can follow these steps to enable the Urdu interface on your iPhones:

  • Settings → General → Language & Region → iPhone Language → Urdu

After the Urdu language is selected, the device will restart to apply the changes.

It should be noted that the Urdu language support on iPhones encompasses system menus, settings, notifications, and Apple’s built-in applications.

With over 125 million Urdu speakers in Pakistan, the introduction of full Urdu support would improve accessibility for a significant portion of the population.

Despite the whole iPhone interface supporting Urdu text and offering language personalisation to Pakistani users, features like Siri voice commands, voice dictation, and some third-party applications still lack Urdu language support on iPhones.
