To facilitate citizens across Pakistan with free-of-cost legal assistance and advice, the mobile app of Vakeel Online has been launched.
The launch of the legal assistance app marks a groundbreaking milestone in Pakistan's efforts in the legal-tech sphere, according to ProPakistani.
Using an online portal, the app will serve as a platform connecting Pakistanis seeking help in their legal pursuits with lawyers and experts in the relevant sphere.
The launch ceremony of Vakeel Online was conducted in Islamabad, where Federal Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar outlined that the app will provide legal aid to thousands in the country who are barred by financial challenges.
Present at the event, German Ambassador Alfred Grannas also applauded and recognised the tremendous traction the application has garnered.
Explaining that the app has been in development since 2020, the federal minister revealed that it has so far gained around 700,000 users across Pakistan, which shows immense public interest in this initiative.
Regarding lawyers' participation and availability on the platform, it was learned that 1,000 lawyers have successfully registered on Vakeel Online, and a considerable number of them is in the screening phase before joining the app. Users can sign up on the platform as both a client and a lawyer.
