The much-anticipated Vivo X100 series is set to launch in India on January 4, as officially confirmed by Vivo. The Chinese smartphone giant has created a dedicated microsite on its Indian website to tease the arrival of the new X series smartphones.

Vivo X100 specifications and features

The Vivo X100 and Vivo X100 Pro were initially introduced in China in November, featuring the brand-new MediaTek Dimensity 9300 SoC. The handsets later made their global debut, and the Indian variants are confirmed to be equipped with the same chipset and an 8T LTPO display. 

Notably, the key highlight of the Vivo X100 family is its triple rear camera setup, led by an impressive 50-megapixel 1-inch-type main camera.

Vivo X100 Indian launch

Vivo India has revealed additional details for the Indian launch, including the availability of the Vivo X100 and Vivo X100 Pro in striking colour options such as Asteroid Black, Startrail Blue, and Sunset.

The smartphones are expected to feature Funtouch OS 14, Zeiss-branded triple rear camera units, IP68-rated build, V3 imaging chip, and 8T LTPO displays.

Price expectations

While the exact pricing for the Indian market has not been disclosed, it is anticipated to be in line with the Chinese and Hong Kong prices. In China, the Vivo X100 starts at CNY 4,999 (approximately Rs 56,500), and the Vivo X100 Pro at CNY 3,999 (approximately Rs 50,000). 

Similarly, in Hong Kong, the prices are HK$7,998 (approximately Rs 85,224) and HK$5,998 (approximately Rs 63,917) for the X100 and X100 Pro, respectively.

Impressive specifications

The Vivo X100 series boasts a curved 6.78-inch 8 LTPO AMOLED screen with up to a 120Hz refresh rate. Both models are powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9300 SoC, accompanied by Vivo's V3 chip. The camera setup includes Zeiss-branded triple rear cameras and a 32-megapixel selfie shooter.

The regular Vivo X100 is equipped with a 50-megapixel primary Sony IMX920 VCS bionic main camera, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera, and a 64-megapixel Zeiss super-telephoto camera with 100x clear zoom. 

In contrast, the Vivo X100 Pro features a 50-megapixel Sony IMX989 1-inch type sensor with OIS support, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera, and a 50-megapixel Zeiss APO super-telephoto camera with OIS.

Battery and charging capabilities

The Vivo X100 houses a 5,000mAh battery with 120W fast charging support, while the Vivo X100 Pro is equipped with a 5,400mAh unit supporting 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.

Clash with Redmi Note 13 5G Series

Interestingly, the Vivo X100 series is scheduled to debut in India on the same day that Xiaomi plans to unveil the Redmi Note 13 5G series in the country, setting the stage for an exciting competition in the smartphone market.
