WhatsApp is reportedly gearing up to roll out the latest feature in WhatsApp beta for the Mac 24.19.71 update that would allow users to follow channels on their Mac.

All the users would be able to view channels from "Status Updates." Meanwhile, it is claimed to offer access to both status updates and channels from the Mac Catalyst app.

According to WABetaInfo, users were previously unable to view all the channels due to lack of support and were certain to a very few of them.

Currently, Meta-owned WhatsApp is set to revolutionise its strategy and allow users to access channels from the Mac Electron app to the new Mac Catalyst app, The Mac Electron app is all prepared to be deprecated in October 2024.

Users would be able to perform several tasks previously limited to some, explore different channels, and more to find their preferred content without switching to the mobile app, but it is only limited to the latest Mac Catalyst beta version users. However, channels are not expected to be adequately synchronised with the mobile app.

Additionally, channels available on the mobile app are unlikely to be spotted on the desktop app, while users may be required to follow them again.

Moreover, users engaged in the app are likely to encounter a few issues, as the feature is yet to be polished more. However, the feature is limited to beta testers only and it is soon to be launched for the public shortly.
