To improve users' messaging experience, WhatsApp is gearing up to release a little yet efficient change with its latest update, making it easier for users to send voice messages.

In WhatsApp's upcoming update, users will be able to record voice notes with a single tap, replacing the two-step methods which is currently available.

As of now, users either press and hold the microphone button to send a short message or swipe upwards to lock the recording for longer messages. This process can be awkward sometimes, especially for users unfamiliar with the sliding gesture.

With the latest update, tapping the microphone button once will automatically activate the lock, allowing users to record voice notes without holding the button or swiping upwards.

This small tweak eliminates the extra gesture, making the recording process simpler.

Some beta testers, having the latest WhatsApp beta for iOS (version 25.13.10.70 via TestFlight), can already try the updated voice message feature.
