WhatsApp is reportedly tweaking its user interface to give people an even better user experience and is soon to introduce a new feature that would let users set the default chat theme.

According to WABetaInfo, the customisable themes feature for WhatsApp chats is available for Android beta version 2.24.20.12, bringing a new default chat theme feature with multiple design options as a future update.

Customisable themes on WhatsApp for Android

The feature will allow Android users to customise the appearance of their chat interface by selecting the preferred colour of chat bubbles from the options available as well as wallpapers from a set of themes.

The Meta-owned platform is designing 11 default chat themes, making the collection more diverse and customisable for users.

With this feature, WhatsApp users can fully customise the look and feel of their chats. However, users opting for the dark theme will also be able to fine-tune the brightness level, providing a more comfortable viewing experience in low-light conditions.

When a user selects a theme, both the wallpaper and chat bubble colours will adapt to reflect the chosen style. This approach ensures that the wallpaper is designed to complement the bubble colours, making the interface more enhanced. Notably, users will also have the option to change the wallpaper while retaining the new bubble colour.

This new customisation tool is still in development. However, once released, it will allow Android users to gain more control over the visuals of their messaging experience.
