The Meta-owned globally used messaging platform WhatsApp is reportedly up to a feature which will allow users to send all future media in HD quality or standard.
The feature appears to be a build on WhatsApp's existing feature which enables to send HD media from the media sharing interface in the app. When dug deeper, Gadgets360 reported that the new feature will add a new setting inside WhatsApp's media-sharing options, letting users decide whether they want to send all future media in HD quality or Standard quality.
Once chosen, the app will apply that preference on all the media-based messages user will send in future. Apart from this, the most recent feature WhatsApp released is the ability to pin up to three messages in each individual or group chat.

According to WABetaInfo, the feature is currently available on the beta version of WhatsApp for Android 2.24.7.17 build, which the company began releasing earlier this week through the Google Play Beta Program.
This feature will save users from deciding on the upload quality of the images/videos every time they send a media-containing message to anyone. This will eventually save time. The screengrab added below shows the options added within the Storage and data menu for the new media upload Settings.

WhatsApp announced a similar feature last year: HD Photo Sharing, which, after support extended for videos, now allows users to send videos in HD.
Currently, users need to manually choose between sending media in HD or standard quality each time they send photos or videos. This control is useful for those who prefer to send standard files and only occasionally share HD images and videos. However, for those who simply want to consistently use one of the options, this becomes an unnecessary extra step.
