WhatsApp now allow users to easily filter chats with customised lists

WhatsApp is set to make it simpler for users to organise a lot of messages filling up their inboxes. The Meta-owned messaging platform on Thursday, unveiled that it is planning to integrate the ability to filter chats into customisable categories.

This new feature is said to help you keep track of conversations with family members, work colleagues, college friends, and more.

The “Custom Lists” feature is an advancement to the chat filters that WhatsApp introduced earlier in April. Previously, you only had access to three filters: “All,” “Unread,” and “Groups.” With this new update, you can easily create lists of your own, allowing you to focus on your favourite chats at once.

How to create customised chat lists in WhatsApp

To create a list, click the plus sign (+) in the filter bar at the top of the Chats tab and provide the list a name. You can then add anyone you want to the list, including both groups and one-on-one chats.

As you add more lists, you’ll be able to swipe on the screen to navigate through the filters. Moreover, you can edit a list by long-pressing it and selecting to add or remove people or groups.

However, WhatsApp will still open to the “All” category, which shows all messages in chronological order. Custom Lists is launching today on Thursday and will become available to everyone soon.
