Globally popular messaging app, WhatsApp, has enhanced status updates with an improved music-sharing feature in its latest beta updates for Android.

With this exciting new Status Updates capability, users can now share music using various sticker layouts, including vertical and horizontal designs, and retro music tape styles.

A new shortcut has also been added to complement the status creation flow, allowing users to share a music track directly without having to attach a photo or video. This option offers an easier way to keep your friends posted about what you’re currently listening to.

In the latest beta update, WhatsApp has also enabled users to incorporate stickers, emojis, and music into text status updates.

WhatsApp new update brings fun tools for text status

Text statuses have always comprised messages displayed against a plain-coloured background, with limited customisation options, but now, the Meta-owned messaging app has introduced interactive tools in the text status editor.

Beta testers can experiment with drawing tools, stickers, emojis, and music stickers directly from the text status screen, without needing a photo or video background.

For those willing to get access to the new WhatsApp feature, users need to download the latest WhatsApp beta for Android from the Google Play Store, as it's currently available to select beta testers.
