Likely a treat to aficionados of the renowned music streaming giant, WhatsApp is said to be experimenting with Spotify integration into status updates.
The Meta-owned instant messaging platform will let users share their favourite Spotify tracks with their contacts directly via status updates. This much-awaited feature will be released in a future update.
According to WABetaInfo, WhatsApp users will be able to post music to their statuses straight from the Spotify app, not to mention the typical option of sending it to individual contacts or groups.
The tech giant is testing the Spotify feature in the latest WhatsApp beta for Android 2.25.8.3 update.
Once it's rolled out normally in a stable, future WhatsApp update, users will be able to generate a preview of the song being shared, including major details such as the song title, artist name, and album cover.
Meta is reportedly including this feature to complement the visual appeal of the messaging app, enticing users with an enhanced representation of shared music.
The notable aspect of the story is that the impending feature mirrors those already present as music-sharing capabilities on Instagram Stories.
