WhatsApp has started introducing the latest privacy feature on iOS for a few beta testers in Brazil. The feature enables users to control who can see their PIX key on their profile.

PIX keys are distinctive identifiers used in Brazil’s PIX payment system that associate a user’s bank account with any simple identifier.

This feature allows users to manage the visibility of their PIX key through four options. Users can choose to make their PIX key visible to everyone, limit visibility to selected contacts, exclude specific contacts from accessing it, or hide the PIX key from all users entirely, according to WABetaInfo.

This enhanced privacy feature offers greater flexibility in managing payment information and improves security. It also addresses user concerns regarding unauthorised access or misuse of their payment details, making it a valuable update for privacy-conscious users.

Currently, the feature is available only to a small group of beta testers in Brazil. However, WhatsApp plans to roll it out to the public soon. To access this feature, users must update their WhatsApp beta for iOS via the TestFlight app.
