WhatsApp is reportedly preparing an event feature for community announcements shortly. It would allow community admins to efficiently manage events directly within the announcement groups to ensure that all the essential information regarding the event is displayed to all the community members.
Since the feature recently appeared to a few beta testers, it seems that the Meta-owned messaging platform may roll out this feature to the public in the near future.
Users would be able to specify the time, date, and other descriptions. The event refers to any particular meeting, or any specific activity which is shared within a group chat, offering all the required information to all the community members to stay updated.

Furthermore, with this feature, whenever a new member joins a community, they are directly added to community announcement groups to stay updated about forthcoming events, eliminating the need to join additional groups.
The upcoming feature would assist in maintaining clarity of essential announcements that are mandatory for bigger communities and admins would be able to reach a broader audience and it would work as a centralised hub for all the members.
It is important to note that the feature will simplify group management, reducing the likelihood of any misunderstanding as clear information will be shared with the members, and eliminating the risk of differences that would arise after posting the details about any event on multiple groups.
