WhatsApp is reportedly working on a new feature, 'Request', which will give users more control over incoming messages on the platform.

WABetaInfo reported that the feature is currently in the development phase, it is will let users manage how they receive messages from unknown numbers.

With the 'Request' feature, users will get more authority over the chat interactions and connections within WhatsApp, as the company aims to provide users with options to filter messages from unknown numbers without completely blocking them.

According to WABetaInfo, the 'Request' feature will work similarly to Instagram's 'Message Requests'. When someone outside a user's contact list sends a message, it is kept in the requests folder instead of appearing on the main chat interface.

It should be noted that this new privacy feature will not prevent messages from being delivered; however, it will change how they appear within WhatsApp, providing a more advanced experience.

WhatsApp is yet to officially confirm the launch of the 'Request' feature to a wider audience with more controls to improve their experience.
