Very little while has passed and Apple is once again in the limelight, this time not to debut its flagship iPhone models, but a range of other devices including the Vision Pro, MacBook among others on its portfolio.
While the iPhone maker has not confirmed whether it's planning to conduct a tentatively upcoming event or will opt for press releases, reports making rounds on the internet suggest several new products lined up for this month.
It should be noted that Apple typically conveys a notice ahead of unveiling major products, and past launch timelines hint that teasers are expected soon.
The table below contains when Apple revealed its October launch plans over the past four years.
Year | Announcement date | Event | Date |
2021 | October 12 | “Unleashed” event | October 18 |
2022 | October 18 | “Take Note” teaser | October 18 |
2023 | October 24 | “Scary Fast” event | October 30 |
2024 | October 24 | “Mac Your Calendars” Teaser | October 28 to October 30 |
Major devices expected to receive upgrades are the following.
iPad Pro: A New iteration of the iPad Pro is expected to feature the new M5 chip and possibly two front cameras, enabling better photos and video calls in both portrait and landscape modes.
- Vision Pro: Rumoured to include an upgraded M4 or M5 chip, a redesigned head strap for improved comfort, and a new Space Black colour option.
- Apple TV: It is likely to launch with an A17 Pro chip supporting next year’s Siri powered by Apple Intelligence. It may also include the N1 chip with Wi-Fi 7. A built-in FaceTime camera has been rumoured, but it’s unclear if it will debut this year.
- HomePod mini: May feature an S9 or newer chip, Wi-Fi 7, and support for Siri with Apple Intelligence. It could also bring improved sound, a second-generation Ultra Wideband chip, and new colours like red.
- AirTag: Expected to offer up to three times longer tracking range, a more tamper-proof speaker, and alerts for low battery life.
When it comes to Macs, Apple’s next 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models with M5, M5 Pro, and M5 Max chips are reportedly entering mass production soon. However, leaks suggest these might not be unveiled until early 2026.
Although October is a typical launch window for new Macs, Apple has also released updates earlier, like the MacBook Pro with M2 Pro and M2 Max chips in January 2023.
The US-based tech giant is also rumoured to be developing a more affordable MacBook powered by an A18 Pro or A19 Pro chip, expected in late 2025 or early 2026.
