The much-awaited Pink Moon 2025 is set to rise in the early hours of April 13, and many skywatchers in Pakistan are eager to know if it will be visible.

Though named Pink Moon, it is not pink in colour. The name has been derived from a North American wildflower named Phlox, which blooms in spring.

When to watch Pink Moon in Pakistan?

As per astronomers, the full moon will be at its strongest at 5:22am (Pakistan Standard Time) on Saturday. Early risers everywhere in the country will thus get the best glimpse, provided the weather is clear. The moon will look full for roughly a day before and after the peak, so it will be seen on April 12 as well as April 13.

This Pink Moon is also a micromoon, which occurs when the moon is at its furthest point in its orbit around Earth.

As a result, it can appear slightly smaller and less bright than normal. Nevertheless, it will still be a beautiful view and an ideal time for anyone who likes watching the night sky.

In addition to the Pink Moon, the Lyrid meteor shower is also due to occur later in April, part of the series of thrilling sky phenomena this month.
