To remain consistent with the trend of artificial intelligence (AI) integration into messaging platform, Meta-owned WhatsApp has also introduced its a new feature called Writing Help, an AI-assisted writing assistant that helps users craft messages more efficiently.
According to various reports in circulation on the internet, WhatsApp's newly designed AI writing tool supports various tones, including professional, humorous, and supportive. This makes it useful for both one-to-one work-oriented correspondence and casual group chatting.
How to access WhatsApp's Writing Help AI assistant
To access WhatsApp's Writing Help, users just need to tap a new pencil icon while composing a message. The feature then invokes a range of AI-generated options for the message, allowing users to select one or discard all.
As reported by ProPakistani, this approach offers flexibility, as it allows those who prefer self-written messaging to write without disruption.
The AI tool is powered by Meta’s Private Processing technology, which ensures that neither WhatsApp nor Meta can access the original message or the AI-generated suggestions, meaning end-to-end encryption is guaranteed.
According to WhatsApp, this technology has undergone heavy testing in collaboration with security experts.
Those wanting to try out the new writing assistant should note that the feature is currently optional and turned off by default. This indicates that users who prefer not to use Writing Help can keep using WhatsApp as usual.
WhatsApp's Writing Help chatbot is currently being released in English for users in the US and select other countries, and the company has plans to expand it to more languages and regions later this year.
