Social media platform X (formerly Twitter) is facing a major outage that has disrupted access for users in several countries, including Pakistan. This is the second time the platform has gone down this week, following a similar outage on Thursday.

The sudden X outage in Pakistan has left many users unable to post, refresh feeds, or log into their accounts. The issue began on Saturday and is still ongoing at the time of this report.

X down worldwide

The matter was addressed by the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) in a press release, which was also posted to the same channel. It described there being no problems in Pakistan's internet infrastructure.

“All other internet services across the country remain fully functional,” said the PTA, reassuring users that the problem is not local.

Global internet monitoring group NetBlocks also confirmed the issue was global and not due to any blocks or filtering in any one country. The outage impacted users globally, not only in Pakistan.

Many Pakistani users were forced to find other channels to express their frustrations, especially users that rely on X as a professional, news update, or business communication channel.

Moreover. the outage has created an inconvenience, but the platform has not provided a timeline for when it will be resolved.

PTA says it is closely monitoring the situation and will keep the public updated if anything changes.
