X (previously Twitter) is reported to be working on the latest feature: a ‘Dislike’  button, which is focused on generating maximum traffic on posts by letting users downvote a post on the iOS version of the microblogging platform.

The report suggested that the button would be available with a broken heart icon which was first spotted back in 2021.

'Dislike Button' on X

According to a social media post, X is likely to introduce a dislike button, which would be used to dislike posts but only for iPhone.

The report further suggested strings of text to be available in the app’s code since an X user observed. “Do you want to downvote this post?” read the string of text on X.

As mentioned earlier, X has previously confirmed its plans to introduce on the app's iOS version a feature to downvote content users disagree with.

On top of that, integration of both upvotes and downvotes is said to be a part of a little "research experiment,” aimed at providing options to engage users and get maximum responses on a post.

Additionally, reports claimed the downvotes were not previously public however, likes were visible for all the users, before the update which hid them in June.
