Xiaomi 14 series tipped to feature Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, confirmed to launch on Feb 25

Xiaomi introduced its 14 series in China back in October 2023, marking the debut of the new HyperOS user interface. Initially, rumours suggested the unveiling of an Ultra model, speculated to be the flagship device, during the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2024. Now, Xiaomi has disclosed the global launch date for the Xiaomi 14 series, likely including the Ultra model, set to happen later this month.

Gadgets360, citing Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun, announced on X (formerly named Twitter) that the global launch for the Xiaomi 14 series is scheduled for February 25, just ahead of MWC 2024, taking place from February 26 to February 29. The specific inclusion of the Ultra model in the global launch remains unconfirmed.

Xiaomi 14 Ultra specifications 

The Xiaomi 14 Ultra, identified with the model number 24030PN60G, recently appeared on Geekbench. It's anticipated to feature a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, coupled with an Adreno 750 GPU and up to 16GB of RAM, running on Android 14-based HyperOS. 

The device is speculated to sport a 6.7-inch 2K AMOLED 120Hz display, an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor, and a quad rear camera setup led by a 50-megapixel Sony LYT-900 primary sensor. Additionally, it may house a 5,180mAh battery supporting 90W wired and 50W wireless charging.

As for the global variants of the Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Pro, they're expected to mirror their Chinese counterparts in specifications. In China, the Pro model features a 6.73-inch 2K LTPO screen, Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM, and up to 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage. 

The base model shares similar specs but with a 6.36-inch LTPO AMOLED 1.5K display. The Pro version boasts a 4,880mAh battery with 120W wired, 50W wireless, and 10W wireless reverse charging, while the base model holds a 4,610mAh battery with similar charging support.

Xiaomi 14 Pro camera

The Xiaomi 14 Pro features a Leica-branded triple rear camera setup with a 50-megapixel primary sensor with OIS, a 50-megapixel telephoto lens, and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor. The front camera houses a 32-megapixel sensor. Pricing in China starts at CNY 4,999 (approximately INR 56,500) for the 12GB + 256GB Pro model and CNY 3,999 (about INR 50,000) for the 8GB + 256GB base model.
