Xiaomi 15 rumour hints at large screen, powerful chipset

A Chinese tech company, Xiaomi is likely to release its new smartphone, Xiaomi 15 this year as part of the purported Xiaomi 15 series of smartphones. The smartphone might strike out the Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Pro, launched in China last year supporting Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC. 

The Xiaomi 15 timeline is expected to include updates over the current smartphone. 

A tipster has mentioned a few key features that the base Xiaomi 15 may launch with, including, chipset, display and camera specifications among other details.

The Xiaomi 15 will be powered by Qualcomm's rumoured flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 SoC. Moreover, it is anticipated to feature a flat LTPO display with a 1.5K (1,440x2,160 pixels) resolution. 

For optics setup, the Xiaomi 15 is expected to boast a 50 MP 1/1.3-inch primary rear sensor along with a 50 MP sensor paired with an ultra-wide lens, and a 50 MP telephoto lens with up to 3x optical zoom.

The Xiaomi 15 is expected to feature 16GB RAM with 1TB of storage space. According to the tipster, the smartphone will be equipped with an ultrasonic under-screen fingerprint sensor, dual stereo speakers, and a responsive motor. 

In addition, the tipster said that the Xiaomi 15 is expected to be offered in two colour options: Black and white. The phone is likely to be available in glass or vegan leather finishes. Details about the battery or charging specifications are yet to be confirmed.

The anticipated release date of the Xiaomi 15 is in October, along with the smartphone to debut in the Indian market.
