A recent dispute between YouTube TV and Paramount has resulted in a potential blackout of Paramount-owned channels on the streaming platform.

The disagreement stems from YouTube TV’s failure to reach a content distribution agreement with Paramount.

YouTube TV, via an email to subscribers, explained that despite its best efforts, it was unable to come to an agreement with Paramount.

As a result, Paramount content and CBS channels might become unavailable on YouTube TV starting February 13, 2025.

These Paramount channels could be removed from YouTube TV

As per the YouTube TV support page, the channels that will likely be affected by this dispute include:

  • BET
  • BET Her
  • CBS
  • CBS Sports Network
  • CMT
  • Comedy Central
  • Comet TV
  • Dabl
  • MTV
  • MTV Classic
  • MTV2
  • MyNetwork TV
  • NewsNation
  • Nick Jr.
  • Nick Toons
  • Nickelodeon
  • Paramount
  • Pop
  • Smithsonian Channel
  • Start TV
  • Teen Nick
  • Tr3s: MTV, Musica y Mas

The blackout will also affect users' DVR recordings of Paramount content, making them inaccessible. YouTube TV has assured subscribers that it is actively working to restore Paramount content on the platform.

However, if the dispute persists and the content remains unavailable for an extended period, YouTube TV will offer its existing subscribers an $8 credit as compensation.

Additionally, subscribers to the Entertainment Plus bundle will receive a $10 discount on their monthly bill until the dispute is resolved.

Meanwhile, if users want to access Paramount content, they can subscribe to Paramount+ directly, with prices starting at $8 per month.
