Adobe has launched the first public variant of Firefly Video model, its advanced artificial intelligence (AI) tool for video generation. The latest model aims to outdo other flagship AI video generation models, including OpenAI’s Sora and Runway which offers top-notch services.

Meanwhile, Meta Platforms are also developing a video-generation model, though it has yet to be released.

Adobe’s model is specially designed to integrate with Premiere Pro, a video editing software, enabling users to modify and expand real production footage. The tool is capable of generating five-second clips at 1080 pixels resolution, which is shorter as compared to OpenAI’s 20-second clips, though Adobe’s chips are claimed to last for three seconds.

Firefly Video model pricing

Pricing for individuals is available for $9.99 for 20 clips per month and $29.99 for 70 clips, in contrast to OpenAI’s plan of 50 lower-resolution videos for $20 per month and a $200 plan for enhanced higher-resolution content.

Adobe is currently preparing a Premium plan for studios and high-volume users, with pricing details to be released by the end of this year. The company is currently working on a 4K video generation, offering motion quality over extended-duration clips.
