What to expect
Siri upgrades
Apple Intelligence was the best opportunity for much needed upgrade of Siri, means new features like on-screen awareness, ability to control apps, semantic indexing or personal content are likely to come but not anytime soon till 2025.
ChatGPT and chatbots
ChatGPT alongwith Google Gemini support may be available in iOS 18 but this is still not confirmed so we have to wait and see what happens when launches in September.
Apple Mail upgrades
Apple Mail will get some upgrades with Apple Intelligence. The mail improvements include being able to organise emails into four categories i.e. Primary, Transactions, Promotions and Updates while message summaries will use Apple’s AI to scan and summarise emails.
Support for older devices
Apple Intelligence will have some strict hardware requirements. For that reason Apple Intelligence will only be available on iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro Max but won’t be coming to any older models.
Swift Assist
Apple is launching an AI-powered tool in the form of Swift Assist as a companion for coding tasks, with an ability to answer programming questions and help to write codes.
