Apple is set to expand its AI suite, Apple Intelligence, to support multiple new languages, by April 2025.

Currently, Apple Intelligence is only available in US English, with limited support for English in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa, and the UK.

Apple Intelligence will support eight additional languages which include French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish, Japanese, Korean, and simplified Chinese.

The expansion will significantly broaden the AI suite's global reach.

This expansion will be introduced with Apple’s iOS 18.4 update, scheduled for April. The update will also introduce localised English versions for India and Singapore.

The language expansion announcement was made by Apple CEO Tim Cook during the company’s Q4 2024 earnings call, highlighting the importance of Apple Intelligence features.

Notably, the company hasn’t revealed plans to roll out its AI suite in the European Union (EU) and Mainland China.

In addition to the language update, Apple’s CEO mentioned that a new version of Siri, capable of understanding on-screen context, will be released over the next several months.

Cook also expressed his reliance on the email summarisation function, citing its value in managing hundreds of daily emails.
