As the year comes to an end, Apple has disclosed the list of the most popular apps and games on the App Store in over 35 countries and regions.
Similarly, the list of most downloaded apps and games of 2023 in India has also been announced by the iPhone maker.

Most downloaded free apps of 2023
The top apps and games on the App Store’s Today tab for the year 2023 were also revealed by Apple earlier this month. WhatsApp was the most downloaded free app of the year, followed by Instagram and YouTube.
JioCinema, on the other hand, was the fourth-most downloaded free iPhone app in the year, beating out Google, Snapchat and Google Pay.

Leading the list of paid iPhone apps in terms of downloads are productivity-oriented applications, such as pdf Scanner, Slow Shutter Cam, and Forest: Focus for Productivity.

On the gaming side, Battlegrounds Mobile India, popularly known as BGMI, was the most downloaded free game on iPhone.

In the realm of paid games, Hitman Sniper claimed the top spot on the list. Meanwhile, Ludo King and Subway Surfers secured positions in the top three free iPhone games.

On the paid side, Minecraft and Real Flight Simulator earned spots in the list of top three.
Most downloaded free apps in 2023
On iPad, JioCinema was the most downloaded free app in 2023, while illustration app Procreate was the top paid app on the Apple tablet. BGMI emerged as the top free game on iPad as well, with Minecraft as the most downloaded paid game.
Top three most downloaded games of 2023
In the realm of Apple Arcade, the most downloaded games of the year were NBA 2K23 Arcade Edition, Asphalt 8: Airborne+, and Angry Birds Reloaded.
Best iPhone app of 2023
In recent accolades, the hiking and biking app AllTrails earned the title of the best iPhone app for 2023.
The App Store awards also acknowledged standout apps such as the digital makeup sketch pad Prêt-à-Makeup and the photo editing software Photomator, which found recognition across Apple devices.

The iPhone Game of the Year was awarded to miHoYo's latest RPG gacha title, Honkai: Star Rail.
