Apple has begun rolling out the Apple TV app service, including the Apple TV+ streaming service and MLS Season Pass, on Android devices.

Earlier, the company offered a version of its app for Google TV; however, the app will now support a broader range of Android-based devices such as smartphones, tablets, and even foldables.

Notable among the features which Android users will be able to use are offline downloads, saved watchlists, and a “continue watching” feature that syncs users' watch history across devices.

Apple TV+ service

The Apple TV+ app has now joined several other Apple-branded apps available on Android, including Apple Music, Apple Music Classical, and a Beats app for managing settings on Beats devices.

Android users must bear in mind that they will no longer need to have an existing Apple TV+ account to use the app. Instead, they can create an Apple account directly on their device and subscribe to Apple TV+ and MLS Season Pass through Google Play billing.

Price of Apple TV+ subscription

The cost of Apple TV+ subscription is currently $9.99 per month.

The expansion of the Apple TV app is expected to enable Apple’s streaming service to reach a wider audience, particularly in non-US markets where Android devices are more common.
