Apple is gearing up to regenerate the 24-inch iMac in 2024, so users can see a new model featuring an M4 chipset before the end of the year.
The company is developing the entire Mac line with an AI-powered M4 chipset. Gadinsider has compiled all the details the users need to know about Apple's plans for an M4 iMac.
M4 chipset
The next-generation 24-inch iMac is likely to boast the M4 chipset, which is the same chip that the Cupertino-based company used for its recently launched iPad Pro models.
Moreover, the M4 is developed on the same three-nanometer technology as the M3, however, it is a second-generation chip with some speed and efficiency enhancements.
In a Geekbench benchmark test, the M4 was confirmed to be up to 25% faster than the M3 chip, which is a high jump in performance.
Apple's M4 chip sports a 10-core CPU and a 10-core GPU, boasting six efficiency cores and four performance cores. In addition, there is a variant of the M4 with a nine-core CPU that the company has used in the iPad Pro, but it is not expected that this chip would be featured in the iMac.

Design
The Cupertino-based company last redeveloped the iMac in 2021, and there are no official details that a new look is under the development stage. It's anticipated that the 2024 refresh of the iMacwill focus on the internals rather than any outward-facing design changes.
Larger iMac?
There have been constant rumours surfacing online about a larger-screened iMac that has a display around 30-inch in size, however, the gadget was still under development in 2023, and there is no announcement about when a larger iMac might launch in the market.
