The launch of a modern, quick train service between Islamabad and Rawalpindi was reviewed at a high-level meeting in Islamabad.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi called the meeting, which was presided over by Chairman of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Chief Commissioner of Islamabad Muhammad Ali Randhawa.

The main goal of the meeting was to finalise the draft Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between CDA and Pakistan Railways, which is anticipated to be formally signed shortly.

The goal of the project is to build a cutting-edge train service that will greatly reduce traffic in the Twin Cities and provide citizens with convenient access to important areas of Islamabad. The train service will be connected to feeder electric bus services.

According to the CDA chairman, the project will give locals access to comfortable, reasonably priced, and safe transport options. He underlined that the project's execution will be guided by international standards and best practices, guaranteeing cutting-edge transport facilities.

It is anticipated that the project will mark a significant advancement in the federal capital region's transport infrastructure. Moreover, Randhawa declared, "The train service will be a major gift for the people of the twin cities."

"In addition to enhancing mobility, the project will support Islamabad's general growth and modernisation."

The project will provide residents with a dependable and effective transport system, revolutionising the commute between Islamabad and Rawalpindi. Notably, the economic and social development of the region is anticipated to benefit from this initiative's emphasis on modernisation and sustainability.
