Amid reports making rounds on the internet pointing to Elon Musk-led group's unsolicited offer to acquire OpenAI, the tech billionaire has taken the world of artificial intelligence (AI) by surprise by disclosing that his AI chatbot, Grok 3, is deep in the final stages of development.

Elon Musk's Grok 3 will be released in a week or two

The Tesla boss also explained that Grok 3, the new iteration of Grok, is expected to go live within a week or two, Reuters reported while citing sources.

"Grok 3 has very powerful reasoning capabilities, so in the tests that we've done thus far, Grok 3 is outperforming anything that's been released, that we're aware of, so that's a good sign," he said while virtually addressing the World Governments Summit in Dubai.

Musk founded xAI, the firm behind the development of Grok, in a remarkable attempt to challenge Microsoft-backed OpenAI and Alphabet's Google. It's worth noting that he's also a co-founder of OpenAI.

Musk, one of the wealthiest business tycoons in the world, has been in the limelight over the past few days owing to his purported $97.4 billion bid, which he is said to have submitted alongside a few investors, to take over the ChatGPT maker.

On the contrary, OpenAI's board of directors on Wednesday explained that the Musk-led offer was not officially conveyed to it, and was rather sent via email, as claimed by the lawyer representing Musk, as a four-page letter of intent.
