The Federal Board of Revenue has announced a 15-day extension for filing income tax returns, providing taxpayers with additional time to comply.
"The FBR is pleased to communicate that the date of filing of Income Tax Return for Tax Year 2025, for the persons who were required to file their returns by September 30, 2025, is extended to October 15, 2025," read an official statement from the revenue regulator.
The FBR earlier clarified that the last date for filing income tax returns for the tax year 2025 would not be extended beyond September 30.
With a fortnightly extension in place for income tax filing for the tax year 2025, taxpayers can now file their returns without rush by using the newly introduced income tax return form.
It must be noted that those who do not file their returns by the extended deadline will be considered late filers, and as per the law, penalties will be imposed on such individuals.
