Google has officially added a couple of new features to its artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot, Gemini, providing advanced AI experience.

The Mountain View-based tech giant revealed on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, that personalised responses and Temporary Chats for Gemini's Android app will provide an enhanced safety features to users for a secured conversation.

The first is a personalisation capability that lets the AI chatbot fetch information from previous conversations to tailor the responses to the user's preferences.

The latter is a privacy feature that allows users' conversations to remain private, as Google does not store the data on its servers or train its AI models on them.

Google launches two privacy features for Gemini

In a blog post, Google announced the launch of two new features for the Gemini app. However, the company did not mention whether these updates are also being rolled out on the web interface.

Temporary Chats are kept in the company's AI servers for up to 72 hours to respond to users and to process any feedback. After that, it is deleted. Notably, the feature is anticipated to launch to all users over the coming weeks.

With personalised responses, Gemini can now reference past chats in conversations. A similar feature was rolled out by Anthropic earlier this week.

Notably, Gemini can now automatically remember essential details from past conversations, which do not necessarily have to be about the user.

Then, when relevant, Gemini will include this information to make a response more relevant to the user.

It is worth noting that this feature will only work with the Gemini 2.5 Pro model. It is not available in the European Economic Area, Switzerland, or the UK. Google is planning to expand this feature to the 2.5 Flash model and more countries shortly.
