Apple appears to be ready to embrace the integration of third-party artificial intelligence (AI) services into its own, as it is reportedly bringing Google's Gemini AI model into its Apple Intelligence feature.

This development was discovered in a backend update accompanying the iOS 18.4 beta, which now includes options for both "OpenAI" and "Google" third-party models.

It should be noted that with the iOS 18.2 update in 2024, Apple integrated OpenAI’s ChatGPT into iPhones, allowing users to redirect Siri queries to the popular AI chatbot.

Apple's Craig Federighi suggested that the company might consider integrating other AI models, including Google's Gemini, as well.

Bloomberg's Mark Gurman earlier claimed that Apple might onboard other AI partners to expand its services.

Although the exact timeline for the rollout of this feature is uncertain, it might launch with the public release of iOS 18.4 in April.

Nevertheless, it's also possible that the launch might be delayed or even scrapped, as Apple has not made any official announcements regarding this move.

In other news, Apple has confirmed that Apple Intelligence will become available in the European Union (EU) with the release of iOS 18.4 and iPadOS 18.4. The update will also bring support for additional languages to the AI suite.
