To expand users’ access to artificial intelligence (AI)-powered search results, Google has introduced an “AI Mode in Search” shortcut in its Android application.

This development highlights Google's dedication to using AI to provide more accurate and insightful search results as the feature enhances the search experience by giving users access to real-time information.

According to 9to5Google, starting with version 16.28 of the Google app, the Alphabet-owned tech giant is reportedly bringing this feature to more Android users globally.

Notably, the AI Mode shortcut is clearly visible in the search box and the 4x1 widget of the Google app. The shortcut is placed in the widget next to the microphone and Google Lens icons, giving users easy access to AI-powered search capabilities.

Additionally, by long-pressing the widget, users can access settings and choose AI Mode from the list of options.

The icon will appear in the search box for users who have already signed up for the AI Mode experiment through Search Labs.

However, users who haven't registered will see the icon next to the search bar, along with microphone and Google Lens settings.

The report also suggested that this specific rollout feature might be restricted, and will be limited to users in the US.
