Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police has launched a new mobile application called 1INFO, intended to make emergency assistance and reporting of criminal activity quicker and easier for residents of the capital.

The app is consistent with the overall vision of Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Raza Naqvi and the requirements of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi.

A police spokesperson said the app can be downloaded from the Islamabad Police website, the Apple App Store, and the Google Play Store.

The app offers citizens two distinct functionalities, an Emergency Panic Button and an Information Sharing Button.

Citizens can contact police by pressing the panic button and requesting immediate service. Pressing the button immediately alerts and dispatches the police rescue team to the exact location of the user.

The information-sharing feature allows citizens to send tips, complaints, or alerts directly to police in the form of voice recordings, photos, or videos through the app.

It provides greater accessibility for people to report crimes, suspicious people or activity, or safety issues, and they have the option of remaining anonymous.

Police have reiterated that the new app is part of an ongoing effort by police to modernise public safety and engage citizens.
