Long after lagging behind other game marketplaces, the Epic Games Store has finally introduced its new Gifting feature with which you can buy games and send them directly to friends with Epic accounts, bagging some amazing awards.
One of the biggest advantages of gifting is that gifters earn Epic Rewards on each purchase, which can be up to 20%, which can be used in future gifts.
Epic Games' gifting feature enhances the gaming experience by enabling you to surprise friends with titles from your Epic Friends list, coupled with a custom message and the option for scheduled delivery.
How to gift Epic Games Store games to friends?
To gift an Epic Games Store game, visit the Epic Games Store, select a title, and look for the new “Buy as Gift” button on the game’s store page.
Users should note that only paid games, editions, eligible bundles, and add-ons can be gifted, and free games, pre-purchases, subscriptions, in-game currency, and consumables can not.
How and when to receive Epic Games Store gifts from friends?
Another notable aspect of gifting on Epic Games Store is that gifts must be accepted within 14 days, or else they will be automatically refunded. If the recipient already owns the game you gift them, you’ll also receive a refund.
Gifting is currently working within the same region, but cross-region support is on the cards for the future. By making it easier to share your favourite games with friends, this feature puts the Epic Games Store on par with competitors like Steam.
