Instagram has doubled its carousel post limit from 10 to 20 photos and videos, offering users more flexibility to share their favourite memories in a single post.
This expanded feature is best for sharing vacation highlights, event recaps, or those increasingly popular "photo dumps" without splitting content across multiple posts.
If you’re confused about how it’s done, Gadinsider has compiled a guide on how to upload more than 10 photos on Instagram.
How to post up to 20 photos on Instagram
- In the Instagram app, tap the + icon at the bottom of the screen.
- Tap the multiple-photo icon (it looks like stacked squares).
- Choose up to 20 photos/videos from your gallery, then tap Next.
- Apply optional filters, and add captions, locations, and any tags if desired.
- Tap Share to publish.
The expanded carousel limit is available worldwide, while if you're still limited to 10 photos, make sure your app is updated to the latest version.
However, it is important to note that if you’re sharing photos through Meta, you will be limited to 10 photos only, as Instagram does not allow you to share more than 10 photos from Meta.
