Gemini Advanced users received a handful ability, letting them upload files to the artificial intelligence (AI) and allows users to conduct analysis on them, such as offering insights, generating summaries, and creating charts.

Google initially announced this free rollout last week and has since confirmed that it’s available to all Gemini users, regardless of whether they pay $20 a month or not.

On the other hand, by “all Gemini users”, Google means all users. Document upload is now available to all Gemini users. You can easily upload multiple Google Docs, PDFs, and Word documents from Google Drive or your device.

Get quick summaries, personalised feedback, and actionable insights — streamlining your workflow and saving time.

Moreover, 9to5Google claimed that advanced users have also been able to upload spreadsheets and code files, which doesn’t seem an option for anyone on the free tier.

Other features such as Deep Research, custom Gems, Saved Info, and Recall are also reserved for paying Gemini subscribers.

If you want to upload a file, you will be required to upload a file and start asking Gemini a question and tap the big Plus sign at the side. This will give you extra options such as “Files” and “Drive.”

Both options provide you the ability to upload up to 10 different supported documents at a time, either from local storage or from Google Drive.

Once Gemini has those files uploaded, you can start asking questions about their content.
