Apple boosts security for Apple ID accounts with two-step verification, adding an extra layer of protection for iPhone, iPad, and Mac users. This feature requires a four-digit verification code sent via SMS or Find My iPhone on trusted devices, ensuring exclusive access to the account. Users need to register at least one trusted device capable of receiving SMS messages to enable two-step verification.

Once activated, two-step authentication is compulsory for managing the user's Apple ID, signing into iCloud, or making purchases on iTunes, iBooks, or the App Store from a new device.
