Guide to tracking lost device
Here is a step-by-step guide that you can follow to track your lost or stolen device and protect its data without a SIM card.
- Go to Settings > [Your Name] > Find My Phone
- Turn on Find My Phone
- Go to the Find My Phone website or use the Find My Phone app on another device
- Sign in with your Apple ID or Google account
- Tap Find your offline devices.
- If the battery runs out or the device is off
This setting helps you locate the device when it's offline. By default, your device shares its location in high-traffic areas to help find your device and others.

Supported devices like the Pixel 8 series can still be located for several hours after shutdown if Bluetooth and Location are turned on.
Instructions for Android 8.0 and below
- For Android 8.0 and below,
- On your device, open Settings.
- Tap Google All Services (if tabs exist) and Find My Device.
- Turn the Store's recent location on
- When “Store recent location” is on, your account stores your encrypted recent locations so you can find offline devices and accessories.
