Over four months after its public showcase, OpenAI has finally released the “ChatGPT Advanced Voice Mode” —the humanlike conversational voice interface for ChatGPT— for users across and beyond the testing group and waiting list it initially made.

Moreover, all the users with subscriptions to OpenAI’s ChatGPT Plus and the Team will also be treated with the new conversational version of ChatGPT.

For the time being, the access to ChatGPT Advanced Voice Mode will be available in the US, but OpenAI says that it will be made available to the wider audience in the coming days, according to Venture Beat

Moreover, the ChatGPT maker is also aiming to make ChatGPT Advanced Voice Mode available to the users of ChatGPT Edu and ChatGPT Enterprise.

On top of its expansive accessibility, the company is reportedly incorporating the ability to store “custom instructions” for the voice assistant and “memory” of the behaviours users want it to express.

With the integration of these two features, the voice variant of ChatGPT comes parallel to the text version of ChatGPT.

Voices supported on ChatGPT Advanced Voice Mode

The array of five new voices OpenAI is adding are unique, ranging from low-pitched to deeper. The voices are the following:

  • Arbor
  • Maple
  • Sol
  • Spruce
  • Vale

The existing voices ChatGPT already supports are Breeze, Juniper, Cove, and Ember, which are usable on ChatGPT’s less advanced voice mode.
