Pakistan's electric vehicle market is finally gaining momentum, and customers have more choices when it comes to compact, city-commuting hatchbacks. Two of the more popular ones making headlines right now are the Suzuki Alto and the Inverex Xio EV.
Both are small and convenient but in very different ways when it comes to performance, price point, and overall value over time.
The Inverex Xio EV is a locally branded electric hatchback, produced in China and customised for the Pakistani market. It comes in three variants with driving ranges of 140 km, 220 km, and 320 km.
In contrast, the Suzuki Alto is a petrol-driven hatchback that has been well-presented on Pakistani roads for years due to its fuel economy and affordability.

With a large infotainment screen, a digital meter, contemporary safety features like ABS and tyre pressure monitoring, and warranties for both the vehicle and the battery, the Xio EV leads the field in terms of features.
Whereas the Suzuki Alto, on the other hand, maintains simplicity with few safety features and basic features, particularly in lower variants.

Fuel savings and lower maintenance costs may be worth the higher starting price of the Inverex Xio EV car (approximately Rs3,500,000).
On the other hand, the Suzuki Alto, which has a proven fuel economy and is simple to service nationwide, is still priced under Rs2,300,000 in Pakistan.
