Have you ever accidentally deleted your photos or videos, only to regret it later? Apple's upcoming iOS 18, iPadOS 18, and macOS Sequoia's recent updates aim to restore those moments again that you might thought to be lost forever.

What is ‘Recovered’ album feature?

Along with several innovative upgrades, iOS 18 has introduced a new 'Recovered' album feature in its Photos app that helps users find and recover damaged or lost media on their iOS devices instantly.

How does it work?

When you update your device to the upcoming iOS 18, iPadOS 18, or macOS Sequoia, your device will be able to automatically scan for the potential photos and videos that may have been lost or damaged.

Additionally, if found, all those images and videos will be stored in the 'Recovered' album, separate from the Recently Deleted album where deleted media is stored for 30 days before permanent deletion.
