The top three telecom companies in Pakistan on Thursday disclosed their total income over the past 10 years.

According to The News, the total earnings of the major three telecom service providers, including Zong, Jazz and Nayatel, were Rs2.521 trillion in the last 10 years.

During the decade, these telecom contributed Rs763.81 billion in taxes, underlining the critical role that the telecom sector plays in the nation's economy.

From 2013-14 to 2022-23, telecom operator Jazz remained the leading company by earning Rs1.663tn and paying 502.51bn tax.

On the other hand, Zong secured the second biggest chunk of earnings with Rs821.54bn in revenue and Rs248.88bn in taxes, as shown in official data reviewed by the publication.

During the same period, Nayatel, a less popular telecom service provider in the country, bagged an income of Rs37.6 billion and paid Rs12.42bn in taxes.
