Following the implementation of the electronic challan (e-challan) system in Karachi, Karachi Traffic Police plans to implement robots for issuing e-challans as part of the system.

During a ceremony, DIG Traffic Pir Muhammad Shah announced this innovative approach in a bid to complement existing methods of issuing electronic fines.

Starting next month, "No Parking" and "No-Two-Lane" signs will be erected on various roads, including Saddar and Tariq Road, where the robots will also be deployed.

Operating at a speed of 20 km/h, these robots will scan vehicles while in motion, automatically issuing e-challans to those who violate parking or traffic regulations.

The deployment of robots to assist Karachi's e-challan system comes amid a significant increase in traffic law enforcement, with approximately 50,000 e-challans issued to citizens for traffic violations in Karachi over the past fortnight.

The introduction of robots to issue e-challans is expected to revamp compliance with traffic laws and improve road safety in the bustling metropolis.

As Karachit continues to embrace technology for better traffic management, the move indicates a growing trend towards digital solutions in law enforcement, aiming to streamline processes and reduce human error in issuing fines.
